(Gibson) The Vines are planning to release their new album, Future Primitive, on June 6, according to NME.com. Frontman Craig Nicholls said the album was inspired by the music of the '60s.

"There are a few three and a half minute songs but more of them are around two minutes," he told Australian radio station Triple J. "I just like the early singles in the '60s, how they seemed to be very short.

"It's kind of changed nowadays but we're trying to bring that back, I guess." Future Primitive will be The Vines' fifth album and their first since 2008's Melodia.
