Don't Hold Your Breath For A Libertines Reunion

(Gibson) The Libertines' Carl Barat says there's "no future" for the band at this time, given the way things stand between him and Pete Doherty. In a just-published interview with New Musical Express, the co-frontman said the relationship between the two men is damaged to the point that it can't be repaired—at least for now.

"We are all in very different places," Barat said. "Right now is not the time for The Libertines. I thought the water under the bridge was under the bridge, but maybe it's not. It's a very [expletive] hard thing. Every time we talk, it just brings it back up."

Barat went on to suggest that only time will alleviate the wounds that exist between the two frontmen. "I don't believe we're healed from the hurt," he said. "If our hearts heal up, then we can break them all over again. But right now… it's hard." more on this story
