Neil Young Reprises Famed Gig For New Film

(Gibson) Neil Young returned last night to the site of one of his most historic performances, staging the first of two shows being shot by Jonathan Demme for an upcoming concert film.

The performance, which took place at Toronto's Massey Hall, comes 40 years after the legendary 1971 Massey Hall concert in which Young unveiled many of the songs that would comprise his landmark Harvest album.

The film, slated for release later this year, is the third and final film in a series of Neil Young concert movies shot and directed by Demme. The previous two films were Heart of Gold, released in 2006, and Trunk Show, which screened internationally in 2009. more on this story
