The World According to Tool's Maynard James Keenan

(Gibson) Puscifer are touring the U.S. this fall in support of their just-released, sophomore LP, Conditions of My Parole, and Gibson.com took the trek as an opportunity to look at the world through Maynard James Keenan. In the following choice quotes, Keenan talks about the massive success of Tool, life as an only child and why he decided to pack up his bags and move from Los Angeles to Arizona.

On fans understanding Tool's music, as told to Faces: All of these people have made us great big rock stars. We knew if we could get in front of people they'd understand our music. If they could hear it, see it, feel it and be part of it with us, they'd see where we're coming from and what we're about. But a lot more people caught on then we thought would, so we owe it to them to keep playing.

On the meaning of the band name, A Perfect Circle, as told to N.Y. Rock in 2000: "We're five people, five individuals who came together to create something, to make music and to complete each other musically, to form a perfect circle. A circle is the reflection of eternity. It has no beginning and it has no end and if you put several circles over each other, then you get a spiral. A lot more here
