Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page To Be Knighted?

. (Gibson) A member of the British Parliament is moving to make guitar god Jimmy Page a knight, according to the NME. Conservative MP Louise Mensch is suggesting knighthood for the Led Zeppelin guitarist, announcing the news on her Twitter page: "I've proposed Jimmy Page. Waiting to see if that finds favour with Honours Directorate. I hope so."

Mensch, who was elected in 2010, has a rock and roll connection. Her husband, Peter Mensch, manages Metallica, Muse and other bands. He formerly managed Page. But, she said that her husband's job has nothing to do with her plans.

"Clearly there is nobody more worthy of a knighthood and I am glad to say I have gathered support from every major record label in the U.K.," she wrote. more on this story
