X Factor's Claude Kelly Receives Record of the Year Nomination for Michael Jackson/Akon Song

Songwriter/producer Claude Kelly has received his first Record of the Year (The Ashford and Simpson Songwriter's Award) nomination at the 2011 Soul Train Awards for co-writing Michael Jackson's hit single "Hold My Hand" (duet with Akon), along with Aliaune Thiam (Akon) and Giorgio Tuinfort. "Hold My Hand" was the lead single off Michael Jackson's posthumous album, MICHAEL. The 2011 Soul Train Awards air on November 27, 2011 on BET and Centric.

Kelly has penning hits for the likes of Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston and countless "American Idol" and UK "The X Factor" alumni and Kelly was tapped by the producers of FOX's "The X Factor" to be one of the show's Vocal Producers/Coaches. On the show Claude Kelly is working with the mentors � Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger � to arrange, train and coach the contestants on how to best sing and perform their song selections each week.
