Baaba Maal will be arriving in the US this week to kick off his critically acclaimed Tales from the Sahel tour and is inviting local musicians to get involved.

Throughout October Baaba Maal will be headlining a series of speaking and performance dates moderated by renowned music journalist and author Chris Salewicz (The Sunday Times, the Independent, Bob Marley: The Untold Story).

Audiences can look forward to hearing Baaba's insights on his experiences growing up in Africa, his views on issues facing the African Diaspora.

Baaba will be playing some songs alongside multi-instrumentalist Jim Palmer and a featured local percussionist.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Baaba's longtime percussionist Mamadou Sarr was not able to obtain a Visa at the last moment before these upcoming dates. In lieu of his absence, Baaba Maal will be inviting local percussionists to come down and play alongside him during the evening in each city. Local musicians that are interested in performing should check Baaba's social media properties for more details.
