Singled Out: Nat & Alex Wolff's Maybe
. I wrote this song from a different point of view than most of my songs. As opposed to a traditional love song, this is a song where the Narrator has "never even spoke" to the girl he longs for. It's a song about someone falling in love with someone from afar, but the lyrics are disguised as a normal love song. I was inspired to write "Maybe" after seeing a movie, and for a little while after, I couldn't stop thinking about the lead actress. I wished she loved me instead of her character's love interest (I still have not met this particular actress to this day). This song was recorded in LA with the rest of the album. Alex played a great laid back drum part, some fun keyboard parts throughout and sang some badass background vocals. I played bass and guitars on it. I'm pretty sure I sang on it too. My playing was influenced by the band Big Star. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
