Theory of a Deadman Singled Out Week: Hate My Life
. I had a conversation with someone from my record label about new songs for our Scars and Souvenirs record and I was in a bit of a slump and not having a great day. I hung up the phone and yelled "I f**king hate my life!" and so it began. Me and my wife at the time went for a walk to cool me down and we came up with the whole concept and lyrics by the time we returned back to the hotel. I sat down and tracked a rough demo of "hate my life" with an extra verse to boot. "I hate how everyone stares when I walk into town, don't they know I've f**king had enough and I'm ready to throw down." It was trimmed down in the final version and lost forever. This is the first time anyone has heard the extra verse. Sad to cut lyrics but you always do what's right for the song. We wanted to write a song that everyone could relate to: the working class, underpaid, overworked and the daily grind. Pretty much how a song can change your day from bad to good like a stiff cup of coffee. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and learn more about the album right here!
