In an interview with Rolling Stone, Clark professes her admiration for her collaborator ("David Byrne is the coolest person on the planet") and says the album is inspired by the Dirty Projectors and Björk's Mount Wittenberg Orca album.

They descended on a New York City studio and magic happened. "We just started writing and kept writing and writing," Clark says. "It just evolved to become this much bigger thing." - more on this story
