In an interview with Rolling Stone, Clark professes her admiration for her collaborator ("David Byrne is the coolest person on the planet") and says the album is inspired by the Dirty Projectors and Bj�rk's Mount Wittenberg Orca album. In fact, it was a charity show featuring both Bj�rk and Dirty Projectors three years ago that led to the invitation for Byrne and Clark to embark on the project. They descended on a New York City studio and magic happened. "We just started writing and kept writing and writing," Clark says.
