Album That John Lennon Signed For His Killer Goes On Sale

(CBS Local) This past weekend marked the 32nd anniversary of John Lennon's assassination on December 8, 1980. Disturbingly enough, the album Lennon signed for the man who would shoot him five hours later, Mark David Chapman, is up for sale.

As the story goes, Lennon signed a copy of his then-new album Double Fantasy for Chapman near his home at the Dakota on NYC's Upper West Side, as documented by this photo that circulated widely following the assassination.

The signed LP was later found in a flower planter outside Lennon's apartment building and used as evidence against Chapman, whose fingertips were all over the cover and sleeve more on this story
