The J. Geils Band Reunite For Summer Tour

The J. Geils Band camp sent over word that the group will be reuniting for the 2012 Houseparty Tour of limited appearances this summer. They provided these:

The band is hitting the road with original members Peter Wolf (lead vocals), Seth Justman (keyboards), Danny Klein (bass) and Magic Dick (harmonica) and will be joined by longtime associates Duke Levine (guitar) and Tom Arey (drums). See below for tour dates.

Guitarist John Geils will not be joining this tour due to an ongoing legal dispute between The J. Geils Band and John Geils' solo record label, Francesca Records.

The band is challenging Francesca Records' baseless claim to ownership and control of the rights to the name "J. Geils Band." Unfortunately, John Geils' decision to align with Francesca Records has hindered a working relationship with The J. Geils Band.

Once again, The J. Geils Band will be joined by the Uptown Horns and background vocalists, who appeared with the group on their historic "Freeze Frame Tour" in the early 1980s.

Peter Wolf, who recently released the solo album Midnight Souvenirs, says, "To rock it up once again with The J. Geils Band, gives us a chance to share a body of work that we created and enjoy performing."
