Spinal Tap Star Released From Hospital Following Accident

(TMZ) "Spinal Tap" star Michael McKean has been released from a Manhattan hospital after a car crashed into him last week, breaking his leg -- but he's not out of the woods yet.

Michael just released a statement ... telling TMZ, he's out of St. Luke's Hospital where he spent the last week -- and has now moved to nearby Roosevelt Hospital for extensive rehab.

Michael was struck by an out-of-control car on the Upper West Side last Tuesday. He was one of 3 people injured in the accident.

McKean said, "I am heading into week two with renewed admiration for New York City's Emergency Medical Service staff, the NYPD, the staff of St. Luke's Hospital ... and all those with problems much greater than my own." more on this story
