Avalanche City Delivers Love Love Love EP
. The first single "Love Love Love" will go to radio in May 2012 with a full length album to be released later this year. "Love Love Love'" debuted at #1 on the New Zealand singles charts and is now double platinum there. Avalanche City, Roadrunner Records' newest signing, is the brainchild of Dave Baxter, a singer songwriter who wrote, produced, recorded and played every instrument on his debut album Our New Life Above The Ground, which was released July 8, 2011 in New Zealand. Baxter recorded the almost platinum album in just one week. Avalanche City is the fastest selling debut artist in New Zealand history. The story of Avalanche City begins with David Baxter in a house, alone, for hours and hours each day for months, slowly learning how to sing by process of scales, recording, and self critique. Six months after taking the first steps towards singing, Baxter played his first solo show as Avalanche City. Six months after the first show, one year after beginning the process of teaching himself how to sing, the first tracks were laid for Avalanche City's debut album Our New Life Above The Ground. Armed with a sack full of vegetarian single serve curries, Dave Baxter headed into the countryside and moved into a little community hall just north of Auckland. There he spent the week alone recording and playing everything himself with only the cows and the milk trucks as company. Once completed, the album was available free to download for four months it received over 11,000 downloads. When it was commercially released shortly after, it rocketed up the charts. Avalanche City's live show features various musicians and instruments from mandolin, ukulele, and glockenspiel to accordion. See Avalanche City on tour with Fun. now. Tour dates are listed below.
