Kimbra To Rock Kimmel For US Album Debut
Vows features six new songs in addition to tracks from the platinum-certified Australian & New Zealand edition of the album.
Kimbra will spend Vows release week in Los Angeles: she is confirmed to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live! May 23rd and will be doing a special show at the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery on May 24th.
For the US edition of Vows, Kimbra recorded additional tracks in Los Angeles, CA with such producers and songwriters as Mike Elizondo and Greg Kurstin. Also included on the release is "Warrior" featuring Mark Foster (Foster the People) and A-Trak, originally recorded for the Converse "Three Artists, One Song" series.
A Target exclusive version contains an additional track as well as a remix of "Settle Down" by M-Phazes.
Originating from Hamilton, New Zealand, Kimbra has been performing her jazz-inflected pop since she was 14. She worked on her debut album, Vows, for over three years, finally releasing it Australia in August 2011 to critical and chart success. Vows won the 2011 ARIA (Australian Grammy) for Best Female Artist and spawned three hit singles; "Good Intent," "Settle Down," and "Cameo Lover." "Cameo Lover" recently won the Grand Prize in the 2011 International Songwriting Competition and is nominated for an APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) award for Song of the Year.
