Depeche Mode's Gore Says Someone Should Shoot Simon Cowell

(CBS Local) Depeche Mode is still thriving in an ever-changing music scene, although they wonder if the business will ever return to actually developing artists' careers.

In a recent interview with British-based MusicWeek, the band voiced their disdain for the current state of artist development citing a particularly fiery hated for television shows like X-Factor.

"I'm not advocating violence," says Martin Gore, "but I think somebody should shoot Simon Cowell!" Unlike the way bands are manufactured today, Gore explained how his band had the luxury of developing over time and found their footing. He asked, "What happened to bands getting together?" Frontman Dave Gahan furthered the sentiment
