Randy Travis Released From The Hospital
. "Thanks to all the fans and friends for your continued prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery," said Travis' fiance Mary Davis in a statement. Travis was in the hospital after he suffered a stroke on July 10th and had to undergo surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. His publicist Kirt Webster stated that the stroke was a complication of Travis's congestive heart failure. He was originally hospitalized on July 7th for "complications of recently acquired viral cardiomyopathy," Webster said at the time. The National Library of Medicine states that "Cardiomyopathy is a weakening of the heart muscle or another problem with the heart muscle. It often occurs when the heart cannot pump as well as it should, or with other heart function problems. "Most patients with cardiomyopathy have heart failure."
