(hennemusic) Rush's July 24 Alberta Flood Relief Concert in Red Deer has raised more than half a million dollars for the cause. The show, originally scheduled for Calgary, was cancelled due to recent heavy flooding and damage in the Canadian city, so the band rescheduled the concert on the same day in nearby Red Deer.

"Thank you to everyone who supported the benefit show at the Enmax Centrium in Red Deer last week," posted the band. "As well as a special thanks to our partners for this concert Live Nation Canada, Ticketmaster, and the Enmax Centrium venue who generously donated time, goods and services so that we could raise the most amount of money possible for this worthy cause."

"We are happy to announce the final amount is $575,000 and it will all be donated for Alberta Flood Relief!"

"It is important to be a good neighbour in situations like these, and we are very grateful that we were able to amass such a huge sum that will undoubtedly help many of our fellow Canadians in need," adds Geddy Lee. more on this story
