Anthrax's Charlie Benante Recovering From Surgery

(TeamRock Radio) Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante is recovering after undergoing hand surgery, he's confirmed. He received expert attention after being diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, a condition that, if untreated, could have left him unable to play.

Benante broke the news to fans with the following tweet, "Surgeon fixed my hand. Nothing broken, just carpal tunnel. Behind my Anthrax drumkit soon 9/13 in San Bernardino."

The thrash icon has been replaced on several recent tours by Jon Dette, who also covered for dropped Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, pulling double-duties as both bands toured Australia earlier this year. more on this story
