Status Quo Frontman Says Frantic Four Reunion Was A Mess

(Classic Rock) Status Quo frontman Francis Rossi says the band's celebrated Frantic Four lineup reunion was "a f**king mess." He and Rick Parfitt reunited with drummer John 'Spud' Coghlan and bassist Alan Lancaster for their first shows together in over three decades.

But Rossi tells Classic Rock: "To me, the tour was a f**king mess. Spud was unfit and kept slowing down, and Alan has his own problems. So it was extremely hard work for me and Rick."

He also admits to feeling bewildered over why anyone cared. "Sometimes it was so sloppy that I can't see why the fans loved it. I'm glad they did, but for the life of me I can't comprehend why other than it's all about nostalgia. And that's not really what motivates me."

Nevertheless, Rossi thinks the classic lineup will ride again.
