(Radio.com) Less than a month after being released from the hospital after suffering heart problems and a stroke, Randy Travis has announced that new music is on the way.

The seven-time GRAMMY winner will release his 21st studio album October 1. Titled Influence Vol. 1 : The Man I Am, the 13-track album will feature songs from artists who left a mark on Travis' career, including Merle Haggard, George Jones and Lefty Frizzell, among others.

"When I think of my musical heroes of yesteryear, or the younger stars of this year, I am reminded that it is true we learn from the ones ahead of us, and teach the ones that follow. They are the reason I chose to make this album," Travis said in a statement.

The LP includes "Tonight I'm Playin' Possum," a duet with Joe Nichols which Travis released earlier this year to pay tribute to George Jones. Listen here.
