Paul McCartney Releases 'New' Song
. Touches of brass and Ronson's modern production brighten up McCartney's signature melody-driven sound on "New." The jangly pop gem also puts an extra emphasis on the 71-year-old legend's vocals, featuring a nice bit of harmonizing and ending with an a cappella section. By the looks of a press release that utilizes the word "new" no less than 10 times, McCartney's upcoming release is also dubbed New. His first album of original material since 2007′s Memory Almost Full, New will be released October 15 by Hear Music/Concord/MPL. Rolling Stone reported a few weeks back that the 12-track album would be out this fall, and that McCartney worked with a bevy of new producers. This included the aforementioned Ronson, Adele hitmaker Paul Epworth, Ethan Johns (son of Glyn), and Giles Martin, son of "fifth Beatle" and producer George Martin. Up until recently, McCartney had been traversing the U.S. on his Out There Tour, which resumes this November in Japan. Check out the song here.
