Prince To Headline Essence Festival

. (Radio.com) In celebration of the Essence Festival's 20th anniversary next year, Prince will lead the festivities down in New Orleans, much as he did for the festival's 10th anniversary.

The four-day event will take place at the Superdome during Fourth of July weekend (July 3-6) 2014. This year's festival included sets from Beyonce, Brandy, Janelle Monae, Emeli Sande, Jill Scott and Maxwell. Additional performers, speakers and events will be announced in the coming weeks.

Prince has been releasing new tracks throughout the year, including "Breakfast Can Wait," "Groovy Potential," "Extraloveable Reloaded" and "Ain't Gonna Miss U When U're Gone,'" prepping fans for his forthcoming album tentatively titled Plectrum Electrum. more on this story
