Robin Thicke and Ron Burgundy Duet

(Radio.com) Sometimes, it's the unlikeliest combinations that combine to create the most magical moments, especially when it comes to making music (you remember Lady Gaga connecting with R. Kelly to produce ARTPOP highlight, "Do What You Want", right?).

Now, we find that "Blurred Lines" singer Robin Thicke has teamed up with none less than San Diego's favorite son, Ron Burgundy (aka actor Will Ferrell) on an update of 1980 hit "Ride Like the Wind" by early '80s soft-rock sensation, Christopher Cross.

The comedic duet was recorded for inclusion on the upcoming soundtrack to Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, which according to Broadwayworld.com is also expected to include classic '70s tracks from the likes of Jay Ferguson ("Thunder Island"), Kenny Loggins ("This is It") and Argent ("Hold Your Head Up").

Thicke handles a majority of the vocals on the cover tune, with Burgundy interjecting comedic commentary ("I smoked a funny cigarette with this Robin Thicke guy and let's just say the filter is off") throughout the track, as well as the occasional backing vocals, originally sung by former Doobie Brothers member and solo artist Michael McDonald.

McDonald's prowess at providing backing vocals on hit songs is well documented, enough that he's received parody treatments from the likes of actor/comedian Rick Moranis.

The new version also features a wicked "jazz flute" solo, a reference to a famous sequence in the first Anchorman movie where Burgundy puts on a spirited nightclub flute performance. Check out the cover here.
