St. Vincent Announces New Album and Streams New Song
. St. Vincent's (aka Annie Clark) fourth self-titled LP, due out February 25, was recorded in Dallas with Dap-Kings drummer Homer Steinweiss and Midlake percussionist McKenzie Smith. "I knew the groove needed to be paramount," Clark explained in a release. "I wanted to make a party record you could play at a funeral." After releasing her previous albums on 4AD, the 11-song record is her first on Loma Vista, home to Rhye, Ghost, PAPA, Little Dragon and Cut Copy. To help tide fans over while they wait for next year's release date, Clark released the self-titled album's first track "Birth in Reverse," a groove-heavy track that has Clark hiccuping the line, "Laugh all you want, I want more."
