(Radio.com) On Thursday, the Recording Academy announced that the Beatles, the Isley Brothers and Kris Kristofferson would be among the recipients of this year's GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Awards. Also getting the honor: German electronic pioneers Kraftwerk, New Orleans zydeco legend Clifton Chenier, Mexican composer Armando Manzanero and American violinist, Maud Powell.

It's looking to be a big GRAMMY week for the Fab Four; the night after the GRAMMYs, The Night That Changed America: A GRAMMY Salute To The Beatles will be pre-recorded for broadcast February 9, which is exactly 50 years to the day from their first ever appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. Most notably, Paul McCartney is nominated this year for Best Rock Song for "Cut Me Some Slack," his collaboration with the surviving members of Nirvana: Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear.

The Lifetime Achievement Award "honors performers who have made contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording" and serves as a hall of fame of sorts, covering all genres of music. Past honorees include the Allman Brothers Band, Ravi Shankar, Diana Ross and Loretta Lynn. Also being recognized this year
