Chris Cornell and Joy Williams Perform On Letterman

12/19/2013
.
(hennemusic) Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell was joined by Joy Williams to perform his new song, "Misery Chain", on The Late Show With David Letterman Monday night, and video of the appearance is available.

The tune appears on "Music From And Inspired By 12 Years A Slave", the soundtrack to the new pre-Civil War film based on the true story of Solomon Northrup.

"I was moved by this film and the story in a way that transcends any film experience I have ever had," says Cornell. "I was inspired to write a hundred different songs, but finally landed on one based on what I believe is an extremely important message I took from this man's journey. Compassion, basic human rights and love must be our priorities above race, religion or commerce. Every generation needs a reminder of that simple idea."
