Singled Out: Willy Mason
. I got gold was inspired by my father and the musical he recently finished about gold mining in Colorado called Billy Baloo. In recording the song I was imagining a steamboat rolling down the Mississippi like the one I rode on when I was 15. I still remember the drummer in the Jazz band that was playing on it. I'm still trying to match that rhythm. Anyway, hope you enjoy the song. I did finally get a pickup truck after writing it, but I sold it to buy a school bus. So it goes.' Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself and check out the official video here and then learn more about the Willie and grab his tour dates right here!
