Matthew Morrison Pays Tribute To Glee Co-Star Cory Monteith
. Before starting his concert in New York on Sunday night (July 14), Glee star Matthew Morrison addressed the death of his Glee co-star Cory Monteith. According to The New York Times, Morrison began his show by sharing his grief over Monteith's passing, calling him his "brother." He then changed his setlist to begin his show with "What I Did For Love," a song from the musical A Chorus Line that was featured on Glee during its second season. After finishing the song, Morrison admitted that it was "awkward" to be playing a show considering the circumstances, but noted, "You guys came to see a show, I came to perform a show, so that's what we'll do. And we'll do it in Cory's honor." Lea Michele, Monteith's girlfriend and co-star, has yet to speak out, but her rep released a statement to People asking that "everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time." Others though have taken to Twitter to share memories of their friend and co-star. Read other Glee star's reactions here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
