OMD a.k.a. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's Malcolm Holmes was hospitalized following the band's concert on Friday night (July 19th) in Toronto, forcing the group to cancel the remaining dates of their North American tour.

Fortunately, Holmes was only suffering from heat exhaustion and not from something more serious and has recovered enough to fly home today, according to the band.

On Saturday the band posted the following message on their website and Facebook: "We are sorry to inform you that Malcolm was taken ill during last nights show in Toronto. He's currently being treated for heat exhaustion in hospital but is recovering well.

"Sadly however we have to cancel the remaining shows of the year (including Rewind festival). Please accept our sincere apologies, we really appreciate your understanding at this very difficult time. We will give you more news on Malcolm as and when.

On Sunday they provided this update on Facebook, "we've been to see Malcom and we're delighted to say he's doing well and hopes to fly home on Tuesday. thank you for your kind messages and support."

The tour was originally scheduled to conclude tonight (July 23rd) in Chicago at the Metro.
