On Friday 311 Frontman Nick Hexum Previews Song From Solo Album was a top story. Here is the recap: 311 frontman Nick Hexum will be releasing his very first solo album, "My Shadow Pages," on October 1st and fans can hear the first song from the effort online.
"My Shadow Pages" was produced by Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty, Jason Mraz), was recorded in Los Angeles and will be released under the moniker of The Nick Hexum Quintet.
Hexum is backed by drummer Gary Novak (Alanis Morissette, George Benson, Chick Corea), Andrιs Rebellσn (a Colombian native Hexum discovered at a Musicians Institute audition), keyboardist Luke Miller (Phunkelotopus, New Soul Underground) and Nick's guitar/sax/keyboard-playing brother, Zack Hexum (who has toured with Fitz & the Tantrums, performed with Michael Buble and composes music for film & television).
"311 is, and always will be my main priority," says Hexum. "We just launched our annual summer tour and we'll have a new 311 album coming in 2014. But this Nick Hexum Quintet album is something I've wanted to do for a long time. It's a passion project that allows me to spread my wings as a songwriter, vocalist and guitarist. I'm really excited for people to hear it."
