Sting To Release His First New Album In A Decade
. The singer's publicist told The New York Times that the record, due out September 24, grew out of a musical of the same name that he's been working on for the last three years. The show takes place in a shipyard in Wallsend, England, where Sting spent his youth, and tackles the struggling local shipbuilding industry in the 1980s. It's set to make its Broadway debut in 2014. The follow-up to 2003's Sacred Love, the new album will feature songs from the upcoming musical including the title track, a folk waltz that is reportedly heavy in Christian imagery, along with a jazz-infused funk song called "And Yet" and "Dead Man's Boots," a song that focuses on the struggle between a father who works in the shipyard and a son who doesn't want to follow in his old man's footsteps. The upcoming album will also include songs Sting wrote for the play but decided not to include. more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
