(Radio.com) As I Lay Dying's Tim Lambesis is temporarily free after posting a portion of the $2 million bail. The Christian metalcore band's frontman was in arrested on May 7 for allegedly hiring a hitman to kill his wife.

According to the San Diego Reader, Lambesis was released after paying $160,000 to All-Pro Bonds in Vista, Calif., near the North San Diego Country Courthouse where he was jailed. If Lambesis fails to appear in court when instructed, the singer would have to pay the full $2 million on top of the non-refundable 8 percent he already paid.

Lambesis was taken into custody on May 7 for paying an undercover police officer $1000 in cash along with photographs of his wife, Meggan Lambesis, access codes to her home and a list of dates when he would be away with the couple's three adopted children in order to establish an alibi.

After pleading not guilty to one count of solicitation of murder, Lambesis' bail was set at $2 million, a reduction from the $20 million originally requested by Deputy District Attorney Claudia Grasso. Grasso claimed Lambesis "is a huge flight risk." Judge David L. Berry stipulated that if Lambesis makes bail, he must wear a GPS device, remain in San Diego and stay away from his wife and children. more on this story
