Blake Shelton Vs Music Critic Over 'Voice' Contestant

(Radio.com) Apparently Blake Shelton isn't someone you want to anger. At least if his recent messages on Twitter are any indication. After Tuesday night's (June 4) episode of The Voice (on which Shelton is a coach), Houston Chronicle music critic Joey Guerra shared his opinion on Twitter about Holly Tucker, a contestant on the show who was sent home.

Guerra tweeted, " #TheVoice sends one singer back to Texas. Don't worry, it's not the one we care about," and linked to a recap he wrote on the episode, where he stated, "OH. Holly Tucker is gone. It took much too long. But finally. Back to Baylor University in Waco for you, madam."

However, Shelton (whose Voice team until last night included Tucker) felt that Guerra went too far. When he saw what Guerra wrote about Holly Tucker, he didn't hold back his displeasure, firing off a succession of angry Tweets.

Calling what the Chronicle critic wrote "hate," he said that Guerra makes him "sick" and even called him a "chicken s***" because of the "hurtful things" he wrote about a "kid" who was just "chasing a dream."

"How about you come tell me to my face how terrible some of these kids are face to face..?" Shelton wrote. "You won't. Ever." Read the rest of the tweets here.
