Toby Keith and Garth Brooks To Lead Oklahoma Twister Relief Concert
. The event will take place July 6 at the Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Oklahoma. Proceeds will benefit The United Way Of Central Oklahoma May Tornado Relief Fund. Keith's benefit concert follows Blake Shelton's Healing in the Heartland, a similar benefit concert held May 29 that featured Miranda Lambert, Reba, Vince Gill, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Ryan Tedder, Usher, and Darius Rucker. Healing in the Heartland raised more than $6 million. Keith's Twister Relief Concert is aimed at helping victims of the devastating May 20 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, that took 24 lives and left many more homeless. Keith grew up in Moore, and still has family and a house there. "I grew up in Moore, I live in Norman and I've got lots of family and friends who were directly affected," Keith said in a press statement. "I know these folks and they're resilient, but we're going to keep helping them any way we can. I'm proud to get together with some others from around here who are just as committed as I am to supporting these communities." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
