Deadmau5 Debuts 2-Ton Mau5bots

(Radio.com) While more than 100,000 EDM fans packed into the Las Vegas Motor Speedway to take in the last night of Electric Daisy Carnival this past weekend (June 23), Deadmau5 (aka, Joel Zimmerman) revealed his new robotic "Mau5bots" at Vegas club Hakkasan.

Described by the artist as "12 feet and 2 tons each of pure mechanical bliss," pictures of the "Mau5bots" show them to be mechanized versions of Zimmerman's original "Mau5head" with illuminated eyes and the ability to hover over the crowd in time with the music.

The show was part of Deadmau5's high-profile residency at the club, which is inside the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. The machines are likely part of the new Deadmau5 stage show, with only two dates currently on the itinerary for the rest of 2013 (outside of the Vegas residency): August 4 at the Veld Music Festival in Toronto, Canada, and August 31, for Jay-Z's Made in America Music Festival in Philadelphia.
