Hurricane Sandy Helped Atlas Genius Finish Their Album (A Top Story)

.
On Friday Hurricane Sandy Helped Atlas Genius Finish Their Album was a top story. Here is the recap: (Radio.com) Australian rockers Atlas Genius can thank last year's brutal Hurricane Sandy for helping the band finish their debut album, When it Was Now, which was released in February of this year and includes the hit singles "If So" and "Trojans."

"We were just out on a tour with (the band) Wolfgang, and we ended up cancelling like four shows (due to Hurricane Sandy) because we were heading into New York, and New York was not the place to go apparently during that," explained Atlas Genius member Keith Jeffery during an exclusive interview with Baltimore rock radio station WHFS (a Radio.com station) after the band barely made their set time at this year's Firefly Music Festival due to standstill traffic.

"But that enabled us to put the finishing touches on the album," added band member (and Keith's brother) Michael Jeffery about the hurricane that devastated the eastern seaboard for nine days last October.

"Where we ended up getting stuck was Harrisburg (Pennsylvania), so we were there in this hotel, holed up. We had a couple bottles of Scotch that were left over from a few shows beforeso we had Scotch there, we had our laptops, so we had everything to work on the album. Harrisburg, we'll never forget it." - more on this story
