Matt Hires Makes New Video Guerrilla Style

(Radio.com) Matt Hires isn't afraid to admit he's suffered a few broken hearts in his 27 years. His new song, "Restless Heart," is even a kiss-off to all those heartbreakers out there who just seem to go from one guy to the next.

Hires wrote the anti-love song with three other guys, combining each of their experiences to form one empowering message. The singer told Radio.com that this message could be summed up in the last lines of the chorus: "You say love is all that you need, but you're not going to get it from me."

The foot stompin' feel of the song was inspired by Bob Dylan and the older blues and folk songs that have influenced the likes of Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers. "I wanted to incorporate that into my music as well," Hires said about his folk leanings. "And I think it's awesome that that's acceptable in the pop world these days."

Hires wanted that freewheelin' feeling to come through in the video, which had the singer and the director, Clay Jeter, driving through San Francisco searching for a few good women who looked like they could leave you heartbroken.

The whole shoot was done guerrilla style, with them not only picking up cars along the way ("We'd see a car on the side of the road and find out who owned it and offer them fifty bucks"), but girls too. more on this story
