Selena Gomez Channels Rihanna, Bollywood In New Video
. There are fields, there are flowing dresses, there are color saturated shots that all mimic the look of Rihanna's iconic red-headed video. The new element Gomez drops in are nods to traditional Indian culture the singer incorporates a Bollywood dance sequence with a cast of dozens behind her. This theme falls in line with her controversial MTV Movie Awards performance, where she wore the red bandage dance costume that drew the ire of many Hindus for what they took to be a misappropriation of the religious bindi as a fashion accessory. For her new video, the bindi is noticeably absent. The look and feel isn't the only thing Gomez is borrowing from Rihanna for "Come & Get It." The song was composed by Rihanna songwriter Ester Dean (who wrote many records on Talk That Talk) and Swedish production team Stargate, who have produced several Rihanna hits including "Only Girl (In The World)" and "Rude Boy." The trio worked on Rihanna's controversial track "S&M." Check out Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)" video and Selena's new video here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
