Jo Dee Messina Calls On Fans To Kickstart New Album
. Dubbed the "My time. Our music." campaign, the announcement declares that Jo Dee is now free to make the album she wants. And that album is a new full-length effort that fans can help fund here. "Now that I have the ability to make any record I want, I'd like to take a different route," Jo Dee explains. "I want to give the public a chance to be heard. This time I want to make a record WITH you, in addition to making one FOR you. "Kickstarter is the perfect platform. It allows me to change the way things have traditionally been done in my career for years. It's totally exciting!" MSO sent over these details about how the campaign is going to work: JO DEE's backers will be involved with every step that goes into creating and recording the album. They will be rewarded with exclusive content and one-of-a-kind opportunities. A $100,000 goal has been set to fund studio time, musicians, engineers, engineer assistants, production assistants, cartage, background vocalists, lead vocal recording days, overdubs, utility musicians, equipment rental, recording, mixing, mastering and more. In order to succeed, the goal must be reached within a 30-day period. Additionally, Jo Dee's fans have been involved in the creative process by influencing which songs will make it on the album, via their input at live shows, Facebook/Twitter comments or Stageit reviews. Fans will also have the opportunity to vote on album artwork and even submit original pieces for consideration. The "My time. Our music." campaign gives the public an authentic, first-hand glimpse into all that is involved with each step of releasing an album. "This album is truly for you, the people who appreciate the creative process, as well as my amazing fans," exclaims Jo Dee. "There's no question, I wouldn't be where I am today without your love and support. You've been with me since the beginning, and I'm in need of your support now more than ever. This album is a fresh start for me, and I want us to go on this exciting journey together."
