Buddy Guy Surprised With Double Album Set

(The Blues) Buddy Guy was presently surprised when his record label agreed to release his latest album as a two-disc set because he had been convinced that they would say no.

Rhythm & Blues was released in July, consisting of 22 tracks which came together organically. Guy tells the Kitsap Sun: "Every time we came up with a song and we were excited about it, and every time we finished that, there was another one.

"All of a sudden I said, 'They put 12 cuts on a CD or something like that,' and we had 16. And another one popped up. All of a sudden we had, I figured, 22.

"I was going to meet the top guy from RCA, and I'm thinking he's going to say 'I'm going to give you a pink slip.'" But instead, the label took both discs as a package. more on this story
