Childish Gambino Croons About Love on New Song 'Melrose'

(Radio.com) With his new song, Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) is slowing things down and showing his sensitive side. On "Melrose," he croons, "Someone gave you all my love, baby," over a spare piano melody.

Before the end it expands to include a string section and synths that help transform it into something that wouldn't sound out of place on a James Blake record. The sound of seagulls in the background give it that extra splash of ambient flare.

The rapper revealed his new song in a rather cryptic way Wednesday night (Nov. 6), tweeting a download of the track to singer Jhene Aiko, who he teamed up with for her track "Bed Peace" off her recently released EP, Sail Away.

Along with revealing another track, off his upcoming album, Because the Internet, which he says will be out December 10, Glover is spilling secrets about those Instagram confessions from last month telling Hot 97 DJ Juan Maclean, that he's not depressed, just feeling a little out of sorts.

"I'm just lost, man…Absolutely," Glover explained. "But I don't think mine is more important than—I feel like everyone else feels the exact same way…I don't think we're really doing or connecting with people." Listen to the new song here.
