(Radio.com) The music world lost a legend last month when Lou Reed died on Oct. 27 from liver disease. While musicians and music fans continue to mourn the loss of Reed, a public memorial for the singer and Velvet Underground leader has been set for today, Nov. 14 in New York.

According to his Facebook page, the memorial will be held today from 1:00-4:00 p.m. EST at The Paul Milstein Pool & Terrace at Lincoln Center. "A gathering open to the public no speeches. No live performances, just Lou's voice, guitar music & songs playing the recordings selected by his family and friends," the page states.

Reed's final interview recently surfaced online. On Sept. 21, he was in New York for a photo shoot for Parrot Zik headphones when film director Farida Khelfa sat down with Reed to discuss music and the origin of sound, among other topics.

When asked why he chose to pursue music, Reed simply said that he loves it. "You do what you love or you get arrested," he said. Watch here.
