Zakk Wylde Planning New Black Label Society Album Release

(Gibson) Zakk Wylde was a guest and performer at this week's Bass Player LIVE! Concert & Awards Show. He was there to show his appreciation for Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler, an award winner. Wylde and Butler were the guitar/bass combo on Ozzy Osbourne's Ozzmosis album of 1995.

Zakk loves his Black Sabbath. He says, "My first album was [Black Sabbath compilation] We Sold Our Souls for Rock'n'Roll. Just terrifying. I've been a lifer even since."

Zakk's Black Label Society's live album/DVD, Unblackened, is out now. It includes covers of Leon Russell's "Song For You" and Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" in an acoustic setting. But Wylde says heavy-riffing Les Paul-roaring Black Label Society is coming soon.

"I'm working on the new album right now," Wylde says. "It'll be out in April [2014]. What's different? It will be the same as the last nine records. Just different song titles!" more on this story
