Morrissey To Headline Nobel Concert

(Gibson) Morrissey has big gig coming up. The former Smiths singer will play the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert, which is set for Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway. According to a post on the singer's official Facebook page , Morrissey will be headlining the event and perform three songs.

Morrissey won't be alone at the event. Other musicians scheduled to perform at the annual celebration include Mary J. Blige, Jake Bugg and James Blunt. Homeland actress Claire Danes will host the event.

AXS TV will broadcast the performance in the U.S. The show will be aired in over 100 countries total, making this a truly global showing. In other Morrissey news, the singer will release a live cover version of Lou Reed's "Satellite of Love" on Dec. 3 in honor of the late musician. "He has been there all of my life," Morrissey said of Reed in an official statement, following Reed's passing. "He will always be pressed to my heart.
