ABBA Considering 40th Anniversary Reunion Tour (Recap)

.
On Tuesday ABBA Considering 40th Anniversary Reunion Tour was a top story. Here is the recap: (Radio.com) ABBA seems to be contemplating a reunion next year to mark the 40th anniversary of winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974 with the single "Waterloo." Mind you, ABBA has not performed live together since 1982.

"There seem to be plans to do something to mark this anniversary in some way. But I can't say at this point what will come of them," singer Agnetha Faltskog said in a recent interview with Germany's Welt am Sonntag news outlet (via The Hollywood Reporter), adding that "of course it is something we're thinking about," when queried about a potential reunion to mark the occasion.

After "Waterloo" won the 1974 Eurovision competition, the song went on to top charts around the world, leading to an impressive run of hits until the band stopped working together in 1982 despite never formally breaking up.

ABBA has resisted most attempts to reunite the group since, though the four original members did briefly convene at the Swedish premiere of the movie Mamma Mia in 2008, the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical of the same name, based on the band's catalog of songs. - more on this story
