(Radio.com) The Killers are locked and loaded for the release greatest hits package, Direct Hits November 11, but the band's frontman Brandon Flowers is already training his sights on a new project.

Flowers told NME that he's planning to spend next year working on his second solo album, the follow-up to his 2010 solo debut Flamingo. He hopes to release the new record sometime in 2015 once The Killers are done touring.

"I'm excited about going home. I'm looking forward to having a normal year. But I'm going to write," he told the mag. "I'm going to be filing those diamonds, It's my jobI'm just going to put my heart and soul into my solo record."

Fans needn't worry that Flowers decision to go solo again means he's done with The Killers. In a recent interview with Radio.com, Flowers discussed the future of his band, saying Direct Hits holds a lot of insight for what is yet to come from the rockers. more on this story
