Necrophobic Dismiss Tobias Sidegard After Domestic Violence Verdict

Necrophobic announced that they have dismissed singer Tobias Sidegard following the verdict in a recent court case where he was accused of domestic violence.

The Swedish death metal band made the announcement on Monday via their Facebook page. They told fans, "Tobias is no longer a member of Necrophobic.

"The verdict following his trial regrettably left us, the band, with no other choice. As stated before, Necrophobic do not accept or tolerate domestic violence in any way.

"We will now search for a replacement. Tobias will make a statement of his own within the next couple of days, which he will publish on his Facebook page."

Sidegård was originally sentenced to 18 months in prison but a Swedish appeals court reduced his charge and his sentence to 6 month. He was also ordered to pay his wife 16,000 Swedish kronor (approximately $2,500) in damages, according to this report.
