Childish Gambino Releases New Song '3005'

(Radio.com) Actor-turned-alt-rapper Childish Gambino (aka, Donald Glover) continues to heighten anticipation for his next album with the release of new song "3005″ on Monday (October 21).

Electro bass stabs and lush synthesizers mark the space age love song, with the rapper promising true love forever (or at least until the year 3005, hence the song's title). The tune is also rife with existential musings, with Gambino digging into the dark side on the second verse:

"I used to care what people thought/But now I care more/I mean, nobody out here's got it figured out/So therefore I've lost all hope of a happy ending/Depending on whether or not it's worth it."

The song's downbeat sentiments amidst the feel-good production coincide with the rapper's recent confessional posts on Instagram. It was there Glover pondered a series of fears and revealed that "the label doesn't want me to release in December because it's not a holiday record and I'm not a big artist." more on this story
