(Radio.com) Lady Antebellum may have postponed their fall tour, but that doesn't mean they've stopped working. The country trio had two television appearances Tuesday (October 22) to discuss their new single, what songs they've been writing and how Hillary Scott's life as a mother influences the band.

During an interview last night with E! News, Lady A said they embrace trying new sounds, their current single "Compass" being just one example."We love trying to push it," Dave Haywood said. "For us, it was fun. We had a little time off for Hillary and we came back and had this song come in and we fell in love with it."

Bandmate Charles Kelley said after releasing "Downtown," their first single off Golden, they decided to focus on more energetic songs. "The fans reacted to it and enjoyed that different side of us," he said.

Having some downtime while Scott had her baby allowed the band to write differently and think in terms of what tracks they'd want to perform every night during their tour as well as repurpose their album Golden. The deluxe edition of Golden, out November 12, will feature "Compass" as well as two new tracks.

"We have two other new songs that's no one's heard before," Scott said. "And then we did three versions of songs that everyone knows but alternate versions of them." more on this story
